An Update on DFW’s Industrial Market

As the fourth-largest metro in the U.S., Dallas-Fort Worth is also the second-largest industrial market. The market holds over one billion square feet of inventory, just behind Chicago (1.3 billion square feet) and surpassing Los Angeles (one billion square feet). A private equity firm has targeted Dallas-Fort Worth as its first destination as part of its plan to invest $500 million in cold storage development in high-growth logistics markets. According to experts, there is a severe undersupply of temperature-controlled facilities in the U.S. The first set of cold storage warehouses will average around 300,000 square feet with 50-foot clear heights, next-gen specifications, and technology.
