Inglewood, California, otherwise known as the City of Champions, welcomed the 300-acre, 80,000-seat SoFi Stadium in 2020. It was a $5.5 billion development and was recorded as the most expensive stadium ever built. As one of the largest developments on the West Coast, it offers immense benefits for surrounding retail, residential, and office spaces. Despite the resurging cases of COVID-19, the Inglewood Mayor confidently stated that the upcoming Super Bowl LVI will commence at the new SoFi Stadium on February 13th. The NFL stadium has inspired plans for a new 18,000-seat basketball and entertainment center, dubbed the Intuit Dome, for the Los Angeles Clippers that is projected to deliver by 2025. Additionally, the stadium comes with thousands of new job opportunities and major contracts for local businesses. The stadium itself is expected the generate $670 million in net fiscal impact to Inglewood’s general fund for over 25 years.
